Does anone know if Minocycline affects your menstrual cycle/ period?
I have been taking Minocycline as acne treatment but since IvE been taking the medicine my period seems to have stopped but when I stopped the medicine, I had my period. So I think its the medicine I aM scared that it might have affected my reproductive system and I might never have a baby.
Minocycline is a tetracycline product and has been around for 30+ years so I doubt that it will cause problems with reproduction. If you become pregnant, I would stop the minocycline right away as I think it can cause teeth problems in the developing child, just like tetracycline can.
To get a difinitive answer to your question, call the nearest Poison Control Center, which also serves as a drug information center. Their staff can look it up real quick and give you an authoratitive answer.(they don’t mind answering questions like this, in their “down” time).
