Face masks should only be used once a week. In the case of masks, more is not better. After using the mask, rinse your face well with warm water to remove all residues. Following with a cold water rinse may be a shock, but it will help close pores leaving your face looking good.

do i need to use moisturizer when i use neutrogena products to heal my acne?
I’ve gotten a couple of whiteheads. I tried Acnefree 3 step thing and that made my pimples itch. Now i’m going to try this Neutrogena anti-wrinkle anti-blemish stuff of my moms that is use for acne and cleaning your pores. Do i need to use moisturizer with acne medicines? I didnt use any moisturizer using Acnefree, not sure if thats why my pimples were itching like crazy.
First of all, neutrogena is a cosmetic solution. In my opinion, acne can be fixed only with dermatological solutions or with home remedies. Neutrogena doesn’t seem to be a good option to clear acne. Did you consult your dermatologist before starting to use this product? If that works for you, then fine. If your acne problem doesn’t have much of an improvement in a week or so, then you really need to learn that this isn’t getting you there. Fix up an appointment with a good dermatologist. See what he has to say for your acne. And before that, try some home remedies. The one which worked for me is green gram powder + nutmeg + lemon juice. Tea tree oil, I apply before going to bed. I had really bad acne ALL OVER my face. All of them, disappeared without a trace. There are many such remedies. Try and see. No harm invested, if not a cure.
About your question, well, for most of us, acne is caused by oily skin texture. The sebum secretion and dirt accumulation is one of the main reasons for acne. It’s not that dry skin types don’t get acne. Check out what your skin type is. If your skin is oily, then moisturizer, though it claims to be oil-free, will promote your sebum secretion and thus will lead to more dirt accumulation and acne. If I use a moisturizer, I really feel uncomfortable. Especially with acne on, I really will prefer my face feeling as clean as possible. I wash my face thrice or four times a day and I don’t use anything on top of it.
